Helping a large organisation to reduce their water consumption and costs

Our client is a large automotive company that designs and manufacturers luxury vehicles. They have around 38 sites across the UK used by around 3,000 employees. These sites are typically made up of offices and manufacturing halls – all of which use water.

Motivated to save costs and minimise their impact on the environment, reducing their water consumption was their primary reason for hiring the Savannah Environmental Consultancy team.

Key Facts

What we did for them

Defined Targets

We helped the company to define and set water reduction targets and to monitor their progress against these goals.

Reporting Dashboard

We set up a monthly water logging and reporting dashboard to show them their water consumption by source.

Innovative Solutions

We influenced the team to install a 120,000-litre underground rainwater harvesting tank. This water is now used for flushing the toilets in the Engine Manufacturing Centre.

e-Tracker System

We made it easy for employees and contractors to report water leaks and defective water assets – like rusty pipework – through the development of an internal e-tracker system.

Preventative Maintenance Programme

We developed a planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programme to make sure water assets were being proactively looked after to prevent leaks.
