Helping a hospitality brand to comply with the Water Industry Act 1991
Our client is a large hospitality brand that operates the UK. They enlisted our help to make sure their kitchens were disposing of their fats, oils, and grease (FOG) in the right way.
The Water Industry Act 1991 states that it’s against the law to block sewers with fat and food waste because of the damage it can cause to communities and the environment. Not to mention the cost incurred to unblock the sewers. Increasingly, water companies are taking legal action to stop food businesses from doing this, resulting in big fines.
Key Facts
- Around 400 commercial kitchens audited
- 12+ tonnes of FOG prevented
- 600+ employees trained
- Implementation of ISO14000:2015
